MLT got the praise he did because he was fucking excellent, could have left when he was fucking excellent, and didn’t.

Lallana is a mid-level Prem player at best, left the first time a truly big club came in for him and had to spend his own money for a one page self-promotional advertisement to get anything more than a two-line recognition of his time at the club.

Lallana was a pound chaser. MLT never was. Lallana will thrive off reflected glory. MLT will trade on his own merits.

If you want to compare them, compare that.

Not one Saints fan begrudge SRL, Sadio Mane, Morgan Schneiderlin, Steve William’s even going back for career/money moves.
That is life and at the moment why we exist.
What we, and EVERY Football fan but especially us DETEST are players who act like disrespectful or scheming or temper tantrum throwing disrespectful cvnts like Lallana and those Dutch & Portugese defenders

Rickie Lambert is probably my favourite Saints player ever after Le Tissier. I don’t begrudge him one bit because he did things the right way.

The media team lovingly crafted a best bits video of Lambert and put a glowing 800 words or so on the official site to mark his contribution to Saints’ rise.

Lallana, who not one year earlier, said he would bite his arm off to finish his career at Saints, was signing Liverpool shirts while on tour with England while still a contracted player for Southampton FC.

He got a two sentence statement on the official site for his much longer career at Southampton.

I can still remember when he was subbed off at St Mary’s when he returned in Liverpool colours. I’ve never witnessed anything like it at a Saints game. That Pompey 2-2 seems friendly compared to this.

He was not universally booed, but he was booed from all sides. @Map-Of-Tasmania should have cottoned on that Lallana is different.

Special, in his own way.

He can dress up in other teams tops (fans guess which club) against a backdrop of a footballing city (fans guess the club) and then everyone throw shit (human or animal) at his face (prize for best direct hit) and then he has to wash it off using his favourite brand name product. And then he gets covered in shit again.
