Called bullshit at the start and call bullshit now.

Maybe we could all have a specialised area that we make stuff up about in order to entertain other board members? Jack can continue to make stuff up about Southampton FC. I’ll volunteer to make things up about the Royal family. Any others?

I just heard that the Queen slapped Cameron after his visit to Buck Palace a few moments ago.

If you know/think a post is going to be full of s©hit(t) you don’t have to read it. I would prefer to hear everyone’s gossip, whether it’s from a local taxi driver or an “insider”. I don’t have to take it as gospel and I can’t possibly see a reason to get upset over it? Carry on, Jack, and whether you are right or wrong, thanks for the entertainment.

We could call it Jack’s PM box and he could pass the information on in good faith

Can Jack explain why he said Saints were consulting with Klinsmann about their pre-season training camp?

Will Athletic Bilbao be checking with Roy Hodgson for their itinerary for their trip to the UK to play us?

I volunteer to make stuff up about Fatso.

I heard he’s actually rather slim and his username is ironic.

I did think Jack’s last ITK, which was like an email his bro supposedly sent him, didn’t read quite right. It read like the sort of fake, backdated email I write to back myself up when I get in trouble at work. Look! See, it says right here, exactly like I said! None of this is My Fault!

Southampton have confirmed they will visit Baltimore in July for a pre-season training camp. This will include a closed doors friendly.

‘‘Time for a Lynching?’’

Why does that need the US national team manager to be consulted? What does it matter to him?

As I asked… do foreign teams consult with Roy Hodgson when arranging behind doors friendlies in England?

ANSWER: Of course they don’t.

Perhaps he likes to be personally involved? Not impossible that he is helping to sort things, although I expect Roy has an underling to handle the basics but surely he would still be involved in decision making? Anyway, whatever. The point is that Jacks mate said were weren’t interested in him and that has been proved to be true!

I dunno, I’m just guessing the Kreuger has ties to US/Canadian Sport and Klinnsmann is head of the USMNT so might have an idea about what the facilities are like and the best places to stay!!

Plus Kreuger spent time in Germany playing Ice Hockey so may know Klinnsmann!!

Thanks for your thoughts.

It seemed like a helpful thing for the club when, as someone observed, the snippets served to prepare the ground for the fans to accept a relative unknown as the new gaffer. When it comes to MP being offered a contract, that didn’t serve to do much but give us a banana skin.

Agreed. I didn’t see it that way at the time, as my source was so confident it was progressing well, so I went with it. It was a big call to make, but I trusted the info. The rest was [at least seemingly at present] accurate, which leads me to believe what I was given, and that terms simply could not be agreed. Makes sense to publicly dismiss him as a candidate, rather than admit they couldn’t agree terms with the man they [and most fans] wanted.

But yes – in hindsight was too much to post for the reasons you state.

Explain why I said it? Because it’s the info I was given. I know nothing more about it, didn’t know we were going to the US until told that, which a few days later the club have released themselves.

I know nothing about Athletic Club’s trip here, if it is just a one off game against us, or if playing others too. But likely not - is the reply to the second question. Two very different footballing set-ups and cultures, the US and here. Though as for Klinsmann, he seems to take a keen interest in USA football generally, not just the USMNT, and I see no reason why with us looking to branch out in the US, that Ralph wouldn’t use contacts there [and possibly Jurgen himself] to help with providing information, and in deciding on specifics of the training camp, if Klinsmann is interested and involved in promoting US football. Maybe he sees himself as an ambassador of US football in general, and sees Premier League teams visiting being good promotional opportunity.

It is not a complete answer to your question, as I do not know anymore that I’ve said.

What events caused this thread to be created??

My source getting ahead of themselves and telling me that MP was pretty much a done deal, me sharing that, and then it not happening as suggested.

What actually happened is open to interpretation. My source being ‘wrong’, or us being unable to agree terms with MP and using friendly press to put a different spin on things, as most fans seemd to like the idea of MP.

I always said I would keep sharing the info I got as long as it kept being right. So I wanted to make sure people still want to hear anything more. No point sharing it if no interest, is all.
