Are you on the value whiskey as well? Good shout.

That was truly fucking awful. But, as the Goat says, it’s hard to imagine we’ll play so dreadfully again this season. I certainly hope we don’t. The worst thing for me is that, as I’m on call, I can’t now slug back a bucketful of gin.

Like Southampton you sold the Bells…

Both on the posh whiskey eh?

Can’t decide whether to go for the Aldi or Lidl 6 month aged Japanese malt blend…

Dudes! Wesley?

I take comfort in the fact we always start the season a bit shite (well not always, but most the time). On the plus side, this was our first defeat and the first time we had been behind in the league this season.

My posts were just reporting on what I thought of today and the season so far, but always take the stance, that I will see how we are going after about 10 games. If we have around 12-15 points we will be on track and on the way. We will see.

On the flip side of what I just said, but in 2003 at the cup final, I said to a few people, this is a peak, it will not get much better than this. We all know what happened over the next 2 seasons.

Well after the Cup final this year, I said the same to a few of the same people, it will not be this good for a while. I am a strong believe that clubs like us go in cycles unfortunately… of course I will be happy to be proven wrong, please prove me wrong!

Its a shame that our peaks, the best it gets, are basically losing in cup finals! The only comfort I’m getting today is from Liverpool getting thumped and lots of people having mane in their fantasy teams.

It was a better Cup final this year. The fact we came from 2 down to get level and pretty much dominate the game was amazing. But yes I get what you are saying… we had Europe as well and played in the San Siro. I still cannot believe I have seen Saints in the San Siro and a Cup final in one season… yes we lost both, but boy they were both fun!

Well I’m fucked and it’s as shit as it’s is, spineless hairdresser cunts and give me Dowie and Branfoot and the Milton Road over these souless talentless overpaid mercenary snakes, were plastic, passionlesss and shit, goodnight and fuck off.

Look st teams smaller than us who’ve achieve more, I wank on your gimpness, were shit as we accept it.

This has become like sweb but with a smaller amount of realists/doomsayers. Oh well we’re one unchangeable decline as our owners feast on the pocket money of our vulnerable supporter’s? But what should be expected from a manager who only got into football this summer and a team more suited to lower half championship.

Still at least we have the giddy heights of losing a cup final to comfort us as we enter these dark and desperate times.

It’s the kids I feel sorry for. There little broken hearts. It’s enough to make a bitter cynic cry (with tears of laughter whilst mummy’s across Hampshire change the bedding as they tut and mutter about having to get the rubber sheet out again when they thought they’d seen the back of it last year).

We’ve had a really easy start, its not easy to pick up points but 5 from 12 with those fixtures and scoring in only one of those games playing sideways passes with no intent and playing Redmond and JWP does not bode well, we can’t score goals and sell a striker, do they know what they’re doing?

I had taken much Port and Lemon at this point.

The dust has settled and I’ve forced myself to watch the ‘highlights’…

I’m not a great fan of slagging off players individually when everyone has been poor but -

Boufal - slow, lazy, erratic, showboating in dangerous areas, poor decision-making, frightened to tackle.

That’s not things to have on your CV if you want a place in a Premier League team.

Tadic - was just as effective in the first half as he was in the second.

Bertrand - half-hearted.

Romeu - sloppy passing.

I could go on as no one was great, but how can so many players be playing so far off the required standard, individually and as a unit?

I really hope they are in training today as no one deserved any time off.

I agree with all of that. I am a bit worried about Bertrand, half-hearted is right, he just doesn’t seem interested so far this season. I think his head is already elsewhere.

The only saving grace this morning are the match reports in the Liverpool Echo, especially the comments section after the report on the Everton-Tottenham game. Koeman is getting some fearful stick from Everton supporters. Many of them saying he is fucking useless, has wasted 120 million buying shite, etc etc. More than a few saying get rid now. Oh dear!

Have I accidentally spent a fiver?

Barry, how about a transfer to Saintsweb? You head is already clearly there anyway. I’ll pay the fiver.

Our midfield did not work yesterday. Very surprised Lemina wasn’t on at half time, considering the main criticism was that we were getting out battled and slow to second balls. JWP still doesn’t have a definite position for me. Davis does, and it ain’t deep in front of the back four.

Forster is too slow. Has Antti Niemi retired yet?

Beyond that, are some of our players perhaps not used to playing without a target man upfront? We seem inept at playing quick through balls for Gabbiadini. Without a target man we don’t even have a plan B.

If that is a benchmark of things to come then we could do a lot worse than finding a way to incorporate Long or Austin in to that side alongside Gabbiadini. Because from what I’ve seen Redmond, JWP,Tadic and so far Boufal, do not warrant a place in the side.

It ain’t the end of the world at this stage but nothing short of a massive, energy and commitment filled reaction is required now against Palace.

Otherwise the script is written for De Boer to get his first win against us.
